China Develops Tesla Infrastructure

A new report from China shows that the Asian country has been building Tesla Superchargers like mad.

In July alone, it was reported that China had constructed over 48 new, V3 Supercharger stations, and another 198 Superchargers across the country.

Which actually seems normal for China, given how quickly they built their high speed rail network. Except Tesla is a foreign company, and while China isn't overly shy about working with foreigners, they are notoriously cautious about leaning too hard on them.

That being said, the current Tesla network in China covers over 370 cities and regions, and the country has the largest charging network in the world. Tesla reportedly has more than 1200 Supercharging Stations and over 8900 superchargers currently.

And Tesla isn’t even the only EV company China is working with to get their network going.

It’s likely that even though China is cautious with foreign - especially American - companies, the benefit of having robust transportation infrastructure is outweighing the usual precautions. China’s push for green solutions especially is likely another factor, as Climate Change is starting to take a drastic toll on the country.

Whatever the reason, it looks like Tesla’s going to see much more growth in China soon.
